Regardless of Zhari’s natural personality traits, being a survivor of extreme violence and war has long-lasting effects. Lets just say Zhari is an INTJ for demonstrational purposes.
Mature INTJ’s have reluctantly learned to deal with their emotions without suppressing their feelings, they’ve built their interpersonal skills positively, and strive to balance ambitions with their personal life, just to name a few.
Zhari will struggle to feel accepted if she has not found a welcoming community, in return naturally creating anxiety and depression. Externally she may appear “successful” – having graduated from college and landed a great job in the eyes of others but internally she may continue to live in fear and wonder if she will ever feel stable again. Countries that have specific refugee programs do not always offer longer-term emotional support and often focus on the physical needs because it is the easier of the two to offer.
INTJ’s already tend to struggle with romantic relationships and Zhari would most likely not be an exception. Depending on the support Zhari receives after she arrives in the new country will determine how she grows into her personality. For most non-western cultures, therapy is seen as a weakness or professionals are not to be trusted in that area although this is decreasing over time.
Hopefully over time Zhari will work through the tremendous amount of trauma she went through as an adolescent and be able to flourish as an adult.
