The ESTJ and Perpetual Stress
ESTJ’s hate to feel out of control externally and internally. When their life is plagued with chronic stress they may try to overcompensate for what is going on in their life. If they have a family they may try to dictate everything they want their spouse or children to do. ESTJ’s do not like chaos in any setting and want everything to be in order. Depending on the strengths of their dichotomies, they may have an easier or harder time responding to the stress in their life. A few helpful suggestions may be to figure out what makes you tick (pet peeves, trigger points, etc.) and then using healthy coping skills to lower these stressors – for example; if your work load is too much but you can’t change it then look for other areas in your life to build more satisfaction. I.e. volunteering (so long as it’s not going to create more stress and pressure), picking up a new hobby (healthy), or taking time to spend with your spouse (minus the conflict and tension).
