Character Analysis for Quantico: Part Three

Catch up on Quantico Part One and Part Two
In season two they introduce new characters such as Owen Wilson, his daughter Lydia, and Clay. I won’t talk about the rest of the team because it would be too much but I added Claire even though she was in the first season since I didn’t address her character in Part Two.
Let’s start off with Owen: First of all, let me take a moment to pause and say how much I “luhv me some” Blair Underwood!!!…. I was very pleased to find to see his name as part of the cast. Owen is definitely not a rule follower. He makes his own rules and isn’t afraid to cross boundaries. Making decisions based upon feelings is not his forte and that’s why in the beginning Alex gets underneath his skin. Owen strikes me as an ENTJ. He’s pretty arrogant, manipulative, and he knows how to get the job done even if that means people get hurt or killed in the process. Right, he is in the CIA….
Lydia –is a lot like her father. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree at all. In fact I would say she is the same type as her dad. Lydia likes to rely on her own intuition and hates taking orders from other people, unless she agrees with them. Lydia’s not as extroverted as someone like Alex, however she is not afraid to give her opinion or talk to other people as you can see in the beginning of season two. Towards the end, we see the bigger picture of what’s happening inside their unit at the CIA. It wasn’t shocking to see what Lydia was really up to. ENTJ’s tend to have a god complex and believe the world should go according to their values and beliefs.
Clay – Clay Haas the second, because as we all know, the first – his father had some serious character flaws…. but it seems like his son is a little wiser. In the beginning of season two, Clay appears very arrogant (in regards to leading and calling the shots even if he was wrong). As the season progressed, he realized his shortcomings and quickly made adjustments for the greater good. Clay is very serious and calculated. Although he grew up in wealth (check out the home he and his fiancé share on the show), he manages to stay somewhat humble and recognizes his privileges. This is why I think Clay is a strong INTJ. He submerses himself in work and wants to be perfect in all areas of his life. Actually I think he and Shelby would’ve made a great couple if she had not already messed it up with the other two men in the family…. SMH.
Claire – The mother of Caleb and Clay, the widow of Clay Senior, and Madame President for a brief period of time. At first I thought she was behind the attacks but the show never clarified her involvement. She really tried to play a good game but ended up losing in the end. Unfortunately, a lot of female politicians get a bad rep for being a cold-hearted you-know-what. Claire is definitely not a feeler type and she strikes me as being somewhere in the middle of an ESTJ and an ENTJ. She was always focused on her career and how everything would make her look; just ask her youngest son, Caleb, as he unabashedly points out throughout the show that she will make anything political.
There won’t be any more seasons of Quantico after the third season. I think the show had greater potential but I understand why they chose to cancel the series. I may add to the character analysis when I finally get around to watching and dissecting season three, but probably not because I think we’ve already had enough of Quantico.
what do you think?
