Moderate:

  • Focused on doing “the right thing” and wants to make sure people are within the traditional guidelines.
  • Moderately concerned with the well-being of others and will choose which social event or friend to help.
  • Still a good listener but may have difficulty paying attention depending what’s going on in their own personal life
  • Can become overly-obsessed with doing the right thing and worrying about how they look
  • Struggles with confidence and self-worth
  • May have difficulty improving their well-being because of fear and anxiety (i.e. not leaving a bad job because they’re too afraid they will not find something better so they do not try; staying in a harmful relationship even if it’s damaging their children’s welfare)

Dual: At least one or more preferences that fall in the middle.

The ISFJ/ISFP will be more flexible and less rigid with structure and organization. They’ll most likely appear less stressed and have an easier time going with the flow. They may choose which activities to commit to and become involved, and will not have strong adverse feelings about not being able to help out more. For example, if they are not able to participate in all holiday family events they will not beat themselves up over it.

The ISFJ/ESFJ will appear very sociable in public and enjoy a wider circle of friendships, they will most likely have an easier time hosting and entertaining. If well adapted in childhood, they’ll have lower anxiety and will not overexert themselves to the point of feeling stressed.
